ABOUT US
D.C. Woodhead and Partners Limited was formed in 1964 with two employees. D.C. Woodhead and a part time secretary. It acted as an agent for a number of firms, specialising in industrial hydraulics. Maintenance and repair work, mainly in the steel industry, led to design and production of specialist hydraulic systems. The industrial hydraulics operation was devolved to a separate company.
At the same time, an involvement with engine components was developed, especially with inlet and exhaust valves and later fuel injection equipment. Fuel injection equipment became an integral part of DCW, where repair and remanufacture of specialist equipment were brought to the forefront of the company. The firm also became deeply involved with injection equipment and engine manufacturers in a development capacity, leading some of the largest engine manufactures development work and helping path the way for major improvements in the fuel injection equipment field.
As a family run business, DCW continues to repair and service a large range of diesel fuel injection equipment. We have a specifically trained workforce, backed up by a stores and technical information infrastructure. The workshop, stores and offices are housed in a purpose-built facility in Pudsey. The R&D facilities major on the development of those systems which are required on larger engines (i.e., those exceeding 80KW per cylinder) on behalf of Robert Bosch AG (Hallein). We update our facilities, as required, to remain competitive in our field and offer our customers a comprehensive service. The addition of new test equipment and a newly designed workshop, makes our fuel injection division one of the most advanced in the area. As well as the regular fuel injection test benches, we also have specifically built test benches to over check and set large fuel injection equipment fitted to a variety of applications such as MAN and Rolls Royce.
Battery isolation switches were added to the business over 35 years ago. We supply battery master switches (BMS) and allied components to the UK market, covering commercial vehicles, ADR applications, sport, marine (both leisure and commercial), public works, agricultural and other applications, from a simple manual device to a complex multipole electronically controlled Battery Master Switches. We include a small sample of this range in our battery master switch sub section. These are examples of a far larger range, plus we can develop specific switches for individual applications. They have grown in both volume and complexity, to deal with modern installations and application. DCW became the UK market leaders in the Battery Master Switch field, being the UK distributor, stockists and development partners of Viatemis/BMS (DIAMecans/SODEREP [ECANS]) range. The range of switches, which is show on our website is just a snapshot of what is available.
We strive to have close connections with our customers and suppliers, ensuring a swift and dedicated response to any and all customer needs.
